Westlakes Recruit is seeking a SQEP (Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person) Electronic Warfare (EW) Specialist to provide authoritative technical leadership and subject matter expertise across all EW aspects of a major defence programme.Based full-time in Riyadh, this role plays a vital part in ensuring EW system development, integration, and performance align with operational requirements and the highest quality standards.Key Responsibilities:Technical Leadership & SME Role:•Act as the lead technical authority on EW systems across the full project lifecycle.•Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) in Electronic Warfare, advising engineering teams, programme leadership, and stakeholders.•Stay informed on global EW technology developments and emerging threats to support system evolution.•Contribute to the definition of EW operational concepts, system capabilities, and requirements aligned with military doctrine and end-user needs.Design Development Assessment:•Evaluate system and subsystem designs to ensure alignment with functional, technical, and operational expectations.•Participate in design reviews and architecture definition workshops to provide performance-optimising recommendations.•Identify risks or shortcomings during the design phase and propose effective mitigation strategies.Build Quality Oversight:•Review manufacturing, integration, and assembly processes to ensure quality compliance.•Conduct technical inspections and audits to verify that components meet quality benchmarks.•Collaborate with suppliers and partners to resolve build-related issues and non-conformances.Testing & Verification:•Support the planning and execution of EW test activities including FAT, SAT, field trials, and system validation.•Analyse test data to verify system performance, EMC, and compliance with requirements.•Provide engineering sign-off or raise escalations based on test outcomes and operational readiness.For more information on this role or to register your interest for future job updates.Why We’re Different:Westlakes Recruit are a people solutions business that understands the complexities of nuclear and the importance of our clients’ mission critical objectives.Smarter, faster, more agile – we have a laser focus on nuclear, with deep sectoral knowledge. Here’s What You’ll Need:•Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Defence Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).•Minimum 10 years of experience in EW systems design, development, testing, and deployment.•Recognised as SQEP in Electronic Warfare with end-to-end EW lifecycle expertise.•Practical experience in Electronic Support (ES), Electronic Attack (EA), and Electronic Protection (EP)systems.•A proven track record supporting complex defence or military projects in multidisciplinary environments.Desirable Skills & Competencies:•Understanding of signal processing, RF propagation, and threat simulation systems.•Experience with EW integration on land, air, or naval platforms, including within C4ISR environments.•Familiarity with NATO and international EW standards, test protocols, and certification procedures.•Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence engineering and design decisions.•Proficiency with systems engineering tools, including the V-model and requirements traceability.•Previous experience in the GCC or with Saudi defence clients is a plus.Additional Requirements:•Must be eligible for local and/or international security clearance.•Willing to be based in Riyadh full-time, with occasional travel as required within the Kingdom or internationally.
