Job Summary•To champion and integrate sustainable principles and practices into all aspects of the design process. This involves guiding design teams to create environmentally responsible and socially conscious solutions, minimizing the environmental footprint of projects.Key Responsibilities•Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy and plan for the project, aligned with organizational goals and relevant sustainability frameworks (e.g., LEED, Estidama, GRI, SDGs).•Identify and evaluate sustainability risks and opportunities associated with the project.•Integrate sustainability considerations into project planning, design, procurement, construction, and operational phases.•Monitor and report on the project's sustainability performance against established targets and KPIs.•Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental laws, regulations, and permitting requirements in Saudi Arabia.•Develop an Environmental Management Plan (EMP) for the project, including procedures for environmental monitoring, mitigation, and control.•Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and develop mitigation measures to address potential environmental risks (e.g., pollution, waste, biodiversity loss).•Develop waste management plan and strategy, promoting waste reduction, reuse, and recycling.•Engage with local communities and other stakeholders to address environmental and social concerns related to the project.•Establish and maintain systems for tracking and reporting on key environmental and sustainability metrics.•Promote environmental awareness and best practices among project personnel.•Maintain accurate and up-to-date environmental and sustainability documentation, including plans, permits, monitoring data, and reports.•Prepare sectional statements and reports promptly and accurately to meet Client and department requirements, policies, and quality standards.•Collaboration: Ability to work alongside different colleagues and teams, encouraging frank and open discussion while promoting joint and collaborative work to achieve mutual understanding and effective results, and building strong & meaningful relationships with others.•Accountability: Ability to take responsibility for actions, deliverables, and outcomes daily. Job-Specific Skills (Generic / Technical):•Familiarity with international sustainability standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 14001, LEED, MOSTADAM).•Experience in conducting environmental impact assessments and developing environmental management plans.•Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.•Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.•Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team•Strong in Microsoft software such as excel and word.•Skilled in using Adobe Acrobat (or similar) for reviewing, marking up, and converting documents.Minimum Qualifications:•Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability Management, or a related field.•Professional certifications in environmental management or sustainability (e.g., Certified Environmental Professional, LEED AP) are an advantage.•Minimum Experience:•10 years of relevant experience in sustainability and environmental management, preferably within large-scale projects (e.g., construction, infrastructure, industrial).
