The role of a portfolio and analytics specialist for cards is responsible driving data-informed decision-making to optimize the credit card portfolio’s growth, profitability, and operational efficiency. This role supports strategic planning, forecasting, business performance analytics, and cross-functional initiatives related to acquisition, portfolio management, risk, pricing, and product innovation.The role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders such as marketing, MI / Analytics, IT, Customer Experience, Operations, Risk and Finance.1. Analytics & Reporting- Develop and maintain dashboards and key performance indicator (KPI) reports.- Conduct deep-dive analyses on customer acquisition, portfolio trends, customer behavior, and channel performance.- Analyze product performance (e.g., spend, balance transfers, Installment cross-sell, Balance and revenue growth, Credit Limit Management) to support business cases and recommendations.- Track and assess the impact of marketing campaigns, pricing strategies, and credit policy changes.2. Business Planning & Strategy- Identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost optimization, and improved portfolio performance.- Support development of the annual and long-term strategic plan for the credit card business.- Lead forecasting and budgeting processes, including volume, revenue, and expense projections.3. Cross-functional Collaboration- Partner with Analytics, Marketing, Risk, Finance, Product, and Operations teams to align on priorities and performance goals.- Provide insights and recommendations to leadership based on analytical findings.- Support regulatory and compliance reporting needs related to the card portfolio.4. Project & Initiative Support- Participate in or lead business case development for new credit card initiatives, including product launches, loyalty programs, and pricing changes.- Evaluate pilot programs and new technologies to enhance customer experience or business outcomes.- Present findings to senior leadership and contribute to executive-level strategic discussions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, finance, Marketing or related MBA- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Tableau, SQL, Excel, Power Point or similar tools.- Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and business recommendations.- Excellent communication and presentation skills.- Experience: 5+ years in financial services, with a focus on credit cards, analytics, or strategic planning.- Proven success in portfolio and cards business.
