Our Global Project Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Marine Engineering Director to join their team in Tabuk, KSA. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Marine Engineering Director leading and driving the end-to-end lifecycle of this high-complexity giga project.The Marine Engineering Director will be accountable for for the successful delivery of the Marine Engineering from a Design and Construction strategy and systems perspective.This role requires an experienced leader with strategic vision, operational excellence, and the ability to navigate a dynamic and ambitious startup environment. Together with the leadership qualities and managing the full cycle of the project from design, construction and through to handover and the teams associated with each of the aspects. The leader will be collaborative, innovative and able to work in a multi-cultural environment for the best of the project and bring a minimum of 25 years experience in delivery of high profile Marine Engineering projects.This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity, employed by our client.Key Responsibilities•Successful delivery of the Marine Engineering Strategy, Design and Construction scope in a manner that supports the successful delivery of the project goals in terms of budget, schedule, quality and sustainability. Being part of the team accountable for delivering the multi-disciplinary engineering for the region.•Working with a team of discipline staff to provide support to the Design Project Engineering Management teams for the regional assets as well as oversight of what Projects are procuring/managing. Working with Design teams in setting Marine Engineering strategies.•Overall accountability for the successful delivery of the Marine Engineering systems in the region (i.e., irrespective of how that work is delivered).•Develop a comprehensive Marine Engineering strategy aligned with the delivery strategy.•Develop implementation plans for Marine Engineering that consider project-specific requirements, timelines, and budgets. Align plans with the overarching mission and objectives, ensuring a clear roadmap for achieving goals. Review and adopt the studies already carried out by the Infrastructure team and the Design Engineering team, develop further ‘non-project projects’ as appropriate.•Utilize industry knowledge and network to source opportunities for Marine Engineering. Evaluate and select technologies that align with goals and can be seamlessly integrated into our projects.•Establish and nurture strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and alliances with technology providers, research institutions, and industry experts. Foster collaboration to accelerate adoption of innovations where these have value to the process.•Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and excellence. Provide mentorship, guidance, and direction to ensure the successful execution of the Marine Engineering strategy.•Demonstrate a strong ability to analyze complex issues and develop innovative solutions to overcome obstacles to ensure successful project execution.•Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the impact of Marine Engineering on project timelines, costs, and environmental footprint.•Regularly monitor and report on progress to leadership.•Leverage knowledge of latest advancements and trends in Marine Engineering to inform decision-making
Marine Engineering Director Experience:•Relevant Degree in Engineering with a Master’s in Business or related field preferred.•Chartered Engineer Status preferred.•Minimum of 25 years of experience delivering major Marine Engineering projects, with a proven track record in the Middle East.•Proven experience working from a Consultancy and/or client perspective•Proven leadership qualities with a strategic mindset•Experience in process mapping and process modelling tools.•Knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools.•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.•Ability to build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.•Competence in negotiating with stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.•Flexibility to adjust engagement strategies based on changing circumstances or feedback.•Ability to lead and influence others to achieve desired outcomes.
