Job Summary:We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer with specialized experience in fire protection systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing cost estimates, performing technical analysis, and designing fire protection systems in compliance with relevant standards and client requirements. Key Responsibilities:Estimation:•Review tender documents, specifications, drawings, and BOQs for fire protection systems.•Prepare detailed cost estimates and quotations for fire protection systems including water sprinklers, standpipe and aerosol foam , FM200 , NOVEC suppression systems. Tec•Perform material take-offs and quantity surveying.•Participate in value engineering and cost optimization activities.•preparation of technical and commercial proposals.Technical Review:•Review project specifications and ensure compliance with international and local fire codes (NFPA, FM Global, UL, Civil Defense regulations, etc.).•Prepare technical submittals, shop drawings, and material approvals.•Coordinate with consultants and authorities for approvals and inspections.•Prepare hydraulic calculations using software for water, clean agent systems, foam, and gas-based suppression (e.g., Elite Fire, tyco or similar).•Ensure compatibility of fire protection systems with other MEP services.Design:•Prepare conceptual and detailed design of fire protection systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.•Generate design/shop drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.•Design fire protection systems including water,clean agent systems, foam, and gas-based suppression.•Develop and design system layouts & riser diagrams.
Qualifications:•Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering •Minimum 3–5 years of experience in fire protection systems design and estimation.•Solid understanding of fire protection codes and standards (NFPA, IBC, IFC, etc.).•Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, hydraulic calculation tools, and MS Office.•Experience working with Civil Defense and knowledge of local regulations (preferred in GCC or specific region, if applicable).•Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.Preferred Certifications:•NFPA Certification (e.g., Certified Fire Protection Specialist).•PMP or equivalent (optional but advantageous).•Certification in hydraulic calculation software.
