The Accountant is responsible for managing the company's financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The role involves preparing financial reports, maintaining general ledger entries, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, managing tax filings, and supporting audits.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Maintain general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded properly.
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Manage and monitor incoming and outgoing payments.
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and on time.
- Follow up on outstanding receivables and handle collections.
Taxation & Compliance
- Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with local regulations.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Support external and internal audits by providing required documentation.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Monitor and improve internal accounting processes and controls.
- Ensure proper documentation of financial processes.
Other Duties
- Provide financial data and insights to support management decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HR, Procurement, Operations) on finance-related matters.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and tax laws.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certification (CPA, CMA, ACCA) preferred.
- More than 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Odoo, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
