Repair Technician - Electrical & Mechanical Equipment (Entertainment Sector)

Our KSA office is growing and dynamic, and team members are required to perform a wide range of duties. As a De-Prep Technician your responsibilities will include:
- Test each piece of cable and power distribution on return to ER, ensure that the cable and power distribution is complete, clean and ready to use. Carry out repairs. Log details and quarantine equipment as required.
- Test each piece of laser equipment on return to ER, ensure that the equipment is in full working order, clean (external and internal optics) so that the laser is ready to use. Make minor repairs. Log details and quarantine equipment as required. Inform the Regional Manager of any missing kit, report re-occurring faults
- Test each piece of SFX equipment on return to ER, ensure that the equipment is in full working order, clean and ready to use. Make minor repairs. Log details and quarantine equipment as required. Inform the Regional Manager of any missing kit, report re-occurring faults.
- Test each piece of control equipment on return to ER, ensure that the equipment is in full working order, clean and ready to use. Test faders and control interfaces. Remove and store show files and reset control systems to current software versions. Inform the Regional Manager of any missing kit, report re-occurring faults
- Keep the workplace clean and tidy
- Driving duties as required
Skills
You will be working in a fast-paced international business working across multiple time zones and to tight deadlines and last-minute changes, therefore it is important that you have the following Skills and Experience:
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to take instruction and complete tasks in line with written guidelines
- Technically minded
- Good fine motor skills
- Must be computer literate and able to navigate online booking systems
- Live event industry experience preferred but not essential
- Electrical cable experience preferred but not essential
- Electronic experience preferred but not essential
- Soldering experience required
- Operates with urgency
- Ability to cope under pressure
- Available outside of office hours and willingness to get the job done
- Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy equipment.
- Ability to fault-find electronics to component level using appropriate testing tools and procedures
- Ability to solder PCBs utilizing through-hole and surface mount components
- Computer literate and able to use equipment tracking applications and the Microsoft Office suite of software
- Ability to work alone, or as part of a team, working under pressure to meet set deadlines
- 2 Years Experience in diagnosing electrical and mechanical systems, ideally within the entertainment industry, such as moving light servicing
- 2 Years Experience in repairing PCBs down to component level
- Experience with keeping stock/service records up to date on a rental management system or similar software
In addition to these technical skills, you must also have:
- Very strong English language skills, both written and verbal.
- Great attention to detail.
- Enthusiasm, organised and able to operate with urgency.
- A full driving licence.
