Job Purpose
The Manager, People Partner – Commercial will act as a strategic HR partner to the commercial business units (Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and supporting functions). This role ensures alignment between business objectives and people strategies by driving talent management, organizational effectiveness, and employee engagement. The role supports leadership teams in building high-performing and agile commercial functions within a dynamic pharmaceutical industry environment.
Key Accountabilities
Strategic People Partnership
- Partner with commercial leadership to understand business strategies and provide HR insights that enable growth and performance.
- Translate commercial priorities into people-related initiatives that enhance organizational capability and effectiveness.
- Provide proactive counsel and coaching to leaders on workforce planning, performance, and organizational culture.
Talent Management & Development
- Lead the talent agenda for commercial teams, including succession planning, career pathways, and leadership development.
- Collaborate with L&D to design and implement programs that strengthen commercial capabilities (e.g., sales effectiveness, marketing excellence, and market access know-how).
- Support employee engagement and retention initiatives, tailoring solutions to the needs of commercial teams.
Recruitment & Workforce Planning
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure the attraction and selection of top commercial talent.
- Advise on workforce planning, ensuring the right structure, headcount, and skills mix to deliver business priorities.
- Oversee onboarding for commercial hires to accelerate integration and performance.
Performance & Reward
- Support the annual performance management cycle, ensuring fairness, transparency, and alignment with business outcomes.
- Partner with Compensation & Benefits to provide insights on market competitiveness and propose adjustments to support commercial talent retention.
Organizational Effectiveness & Change Management
- Drive organizational design discussions to ensure commercial functions are structured effectively.
- Support business transformations, product launches, and change initiatives with tailored HR interventions.
- Foster a culture of accountability, agility, and innovation across commercial teams.
HR Excellence & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to labor laws, compliance standards, and company policies across commercial operations.
- Provide guidance on employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions when required.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging workplace.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Business Administration or related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred. Professional certificate in HR is preferred.
Experience:
- 6–8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a business partner role supporting commercial or client-facing teams (pharmaceutical/healthcare industry strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, talent management, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness.
- Strong knowledge of labor law, compliance, and HR best practices.
