Job Description:
We are seeking a bilingual In-House Legal Counsel fluent in Arabic and English, with a strong academic background in law studied in English. This critical role involves managing the legal landscape of our operations across multiple jurisdictions, including drafting and reviewing agreements, handling employee-related legal matters, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing company setups globally, and coordinating with external legal firms.
The ideal candidate will combine expertise in legal advisory with practical business acumen, ensuring all legal strategies align with the company’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Legal Advice & Legal Compliance Across Different Jurisdictions:
- Advise leadership on legal risks, opportunities, and strategies to protect and advance the company’s interests.
- Provide proactive legal support for business decisions and projects.
Drafting and Reviewing Agreements:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with customers, suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure all agreements comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Business Insurances:
- Oversee and manage all business insurance policies, including renewals, claims, and ensuring adequate coverage.
Employee Legal Matters:
- Manage all legal aspects related to employees, including employment contracts, disputes, and labor law compliance.
- Provide guidance on HR policies and handle regulatory matters.
Company Setup and Compliance:
- Handle the legal processes for setting up new entities, branches, or subsidiaries in GCC, China, and Europe.
- Ensure full compliance with local and international laws and regulations.
- Manage licensing, corporate governance, and regulatory requirements globally.
External Legal Coordination:
- Act as the primary liaison with external legal firms for litigation, arbitration, and other legal matters.
- Ensure efficient and cost-effective handling of external legal services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Law (LLB or equivalent), studied in English.
- Licensed to practice law in a relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience as a legal counsel, with exposure to international operations.
- Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
- Strong knowledge of contract law, employment law, corporate governance, and international business regulations.
- Expertise in managing legal matters across multiple jurisdictions, particularly in GCC, China, and Europe.
- Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in managing business insurance portfolios.
- Knowledge of company setup and compliance processes in GCC and other global markets.
- Strategic problem-solver with a proactive approach to legal risk management.
