Our Multi National Project & Commercial Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Project Manager to join their team in a new build high rise project in Riyadh, KSA. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Project Manager managing large scale residential and hospitality high rise building projects in KSA and/or the GCC and a proven background working in a recognized PMC or Developer business.This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity, employed by our client.Key Responsibilities:•Leads dedicated scope within a large scale project with minimal input. •Strong grasp of full project life cycle principles (including pre- and post-contract phases) •Takes a broader oversight role, ensuring either in-house or third party commercial-, design-, project controls-related activities, reporting, and deliverables are occurring at the pace and quality level required for project success •Ensures that service delivery standards are upheld •Coordinates the efforts of various workers in order to ensure that required tasks can be accomplished on time •Proactively identifies obstacles and offers solutions to obstacles on a project with their line manager •Is able to ‘manage by exception’ offering bespoke solutions to clients to suit their requirements •Develops and updates required working documents in order to carry out project management effectively, with an acute attention to detail (e.g. meeting minutes, meeting agendas, action registers, risk registers, submission trackers, change control trackers, management plans, project directories, communication matrices, logs etc.) •Able to develop Project Executive Plans (PEP), including delivery & procurement methodologies, for both small- and large-scale projects, and assist the project lead on the development of larger projects •Updates project dashboards and project monthly reports for line manager review •Develops progress reports, proposals, and presentations for final review by the project lead; participates in presentations to colleagues, clients, and third-parties •Gives final approval of work required for project implementation produced by junior team members, providing feedback and coaching as applicable •Able to run client/supplier meetings (and knows when to seek senior guidance) •Able to manage the overall design process - working with the Client to develop project brief, assisting with developing design scopes, proposing the delivery programme and consultant responsibility matrices to suit the project requirements, tracking design deliverables, driving the design programme, and managing review workflows & obtaining necessary client approvals •Able to review drawings & specifications, understands typical design stages and the level of detail expected to be submitted at each, ensures deliverables are in line with the Client's brief, confirming drawing quality meets stage/project requirements, and understands if design will meet budget targets •Strong at developing project programmes using fundamentals - standard sequence of works, standard durations, predecessors and successors, concurrent works, and can analyze impacts and delays by using the critical path method •Good grasp of commercial management fundamentals - knows typical procurement routes and typical forms of contract, able to manage budget through budget & cost reports prepared by others, knows the correct information required for others to prepare estimates and BOQs at each design stage, monitors cashflow forecasts and plans accordingly, able to administer the project contract, with a good understanding of the conditions of contract •Develops and manages the change management processes - identify time and cost implications, tracking change status, issue change requests and variation orders, exposed to claims management •Manages the tendering process, including preparing and collating documents for RFPs and Bid Documents, vendor selection, preparing technical evaluations, involvement in commercial evaluations •Good at drafting contract correspondence (e.g., letters, notices, instructions) for final review by line manager •Able to lead the value engineering process •Has highly proficient level of understanding on HSE and other technical competencies •Manages client relationship through productive and respectful interaction with client team, keeping line manager abreast of client suggestions, feedback, and general work implementation •Maintains a regular schedule of high-level client meetings to ensure project satisfaction •Attempts to mediate difficult situations that can arise between the client and a third party, and where not possible, escalates the issue to their line manager in a timely manner
Project Manager Experience:•Engineering Degree in Construction or Engineering, having played a senior role in large multi-faceted complex projects.•Minimum 10-12+ years of direct experience in construction/manufacturing large projects is required, with 3+ years of experience in project leadership roles for recognised design or engineering consultants•Demonstrable record in successful delivery of large complex projects as project manager•Experience in both pre- and post- contract phases of development. •Strong communication and organizational skills. •Strategic thinking and problem-solving. •Excellent stakeholder and vendor management skills. •Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. •Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
