Duties and responsibilities:

The position will undertake the day-to-day management of our Warehouse Operation in Dublin, ensuring effective management of all operational costs & services along with the effective implementation of the operational Business Plan. The operation is currently going through significant change programs and future investment will mean the individual will need a dynamic approach to change and continuous improvement.

Reporting to the site General Manager.
Ensure the site operates in accordance with Health and Safety policy and procedures and that a proactive Safety culture is embraced at all levels
Ensure 'positive customer experience' is embraced by the entire team and is delivered across the operation to provide an Engagement Culture in line with the Wincanton and Customer Values.
Daily contact with Customer representatives to ensure volume targets and processes are met to the highest standard in a fast-paced environment.
Be responsible for achieving operational targets, goals and contractual KPI's for the purpose of ensuring the provision of an effective and efficient quality service to the customer.
To manage and motivate the team by giving direction and leadership, monitoring performance to ensure the depot achieves high performance levels.
To ensure operational targets are met on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Create a robust succession plan through performance and development process for all reports
Disciplinary action is carried out in line with company procedures and aim to resolve grievances by leading by example.
Liaise with transport operators to ensure that delivery KPIs are met.
Required to create an environment where individual and team development, the acceptance of change and continuous improvement are both valued and the norm.
Undertake such duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the function and department

Experience, skills and attributes:

Must have a proven track record of demonstrating operational leadership within a demanding and fast paced environment
Minimum requirement would be experience with a current market leading WMS in a narrow aisle environment
Experienced in,Grid, Pick,Bulk, Pick,Reverse Pick,Pick to Person process.
Must demonstrate proven track record of managing warehouse operations, requiring both accuracy and high productivity and possess experience in a diverse, sensitive and service orientated environment.
Will have a good understanding a proven track record of positive accountability for stock management
Will have excellent leadership, influencing and communication skills in order to maximise the effectiveness of your own team ensuring that they are well informed and motivated to achieve their performance goals and the KPI's of the Contract
Above will be supported with effective / structured process management skill to ensure effective delegation and accountability
Must possess the above skills and proactively engage with the senior team to support the business strategy as a key member of the high-performaning team
Must have the interpersonal skills to establish effective communication channels with employees ensuring that they are well informed about the site and the wider business of both Wincanton and the customer
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to provide the budgetary and financial controls and be able to operate effectively in an "Open Book" and "Closed Book" environment involving regular detailed and comprehensive customer reviews.
Must have a proven track record of delivering change and have a continuous improvement mind-set
Must have the energy, determination and commitment to operate in an environment where regular customer contact and scrutiny is the norm and effective customer communication and relationships are essential
