Aviation SMS - Part 145 Maintenance OperationsLocation: Saudi Arabia - Assigned BaseReporting to: VP of Technical OperationsWe're seeking a passionate SMS Part 145 Safety Director with extensive experience in Safety Management Systems (SMS) to take the lead on safety and risk management for operations under a Part 145 Approved Maintenance Organization Certificate. The Role:As the SMS Director Part 145 , you'll be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the performance of the Safety Management System and related assurance programs. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with regulatory compliance, customer expectations, and the organization's mission of operational excellence.What You'll Be Doing: * Lead the evaluation and continuous improvement of SMS within Part 145 operations * Conduct regular safety and quality audits in collaboration with the Quality team * Facilitate proactive hazard identification and risk assessments across all technical domains * Manage and resolve safety reports, ensuring thorough investigation and documented outcomes * Develop Safety Cases and implement risk controls to enhance operational safety * Maintain and update the organization's Hazard/Risk Register * Monitor the effectiveness of risk controls and corrective actions * Champion the development and delivery of safety promotion programsLeadership & Culture: * Promote a "just and learning" safety culture through transparent leadership * Mentor, coach, and guide team members to high performance
* Certified in Safety Management Systems and Aviation Auditing * Aircraft accident investigation training (preferred) * Aviation Human Factors training (a plus) Experience: * Minimum 9 years in aviation, including 3 years in a leadership role * At least 3 years in aviation safety within similar operational environments * Licensed aircraft maintenance experience (B1 or B2) is advantageous * Deep understanding of aviation risk management principles and regulatory frameworks (GACARs, FAA, EASA)Skills: * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities * Proven leadership and project management skills * Excellent written communication and reporting skills * Proficient in MS Office and adaptable to aviation-specific IT systems * Highly organized, proactive, and process-orientedReady to elevate aviation safety to new heights?This is a rare opportunity to be at the forefront of safety and innovation in one of the region's most exciting aviation environments.
