Key Responsibilities:•Reviewing Design Documents: Conducting thorough reviews of architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and calculations at various stages of the design process (schematic design, design development, construction documents, etc.).•Identifying Discrepancies: Pinpointing errors, omissions, inconsistencies, and non-compliance with project standards, Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other local applicable codes and standards, accessibility guidelines, and client requirements.•Ensuring Interdisciplinary Coordination: Verifying that the designs from different disciplines (architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, etc.) are properly coordinated and integrated.•Applying Standards and Procedures: Utilizing established quality control checklists, protocols, and best practices during the review process.•Documenting Findings: Clearly and accurately documenting all review comments, discrepancies, and non-conformances.•Communicating Issues: Effectively communicating review findings to project teams, discipline leaders, and project managers, both verbally and in writing.•Tracking Resolutions: Following up on identified issues to ensure they are addressed and corrected in a timely manner.•Maintaining Records: Organizing and maintaining records of all quality control activities and documentation.•Contributing to Improvement: Providing feedback and insights to help improve design processes, standards, and quality control procedures within the firm.•Staying Updated: Keep informed of changes in building codes, standards, regulations, and industry best practices relevant to Saudi Arabia.•Potentially Participating in Training: Assisting in the development and delivery of training on quality control procedures for design staff.•BIM Quality Control: Reviewing Building Information Models (BIM) for adherence to standards, data accuracy, and coordination.
•Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of architectural and/or engineering design principles, construction methods, and relevant codes and standards (especially the Saudi Building Code - SBC). Experience with quality management systems particularly ISO 9001 and in conducting internal audits.•Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to identify even minor errors and inconsistencies in complex documents.•Analytical Skills: Ability to critically analyze design documents and identify potential problems or risks.•Communication Skills: Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey review findings.•Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple reviews, track issues, and maintain organized records.•Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify the root cause of errors and suggest potential solutions.•Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with project teams and other stakeholders.•Software Proficiency: Familiarity with relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and office productivity tools.•Educational Background: A degree in Architecture, Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field) is required.•Experience: Previous experience in design and/or quality control within the architecture and engineering industry is a must. Familiarity with local Saudi Arabian regulations and practices would be preferred.
