JOB PURPOSEThe Electrical Engineer is a member of the supervision services team. He supports supervision teams with the management of construction sites, including conducting quality and HSSE inspection and monitoring the contractors’ daily activities and resources allocation against construction programs. He supports the commissioning and testing activities during the Hand-Over and Defects Liability Period in coordination with senior supervision team members as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSupport Project Managers with managing client relations and expectations, as neededSupport Project Managers with responding to client clarifications on technical and contractual issues, as neededSupport Project Managers with organizing inspections by third parties, as neededShop Drawing Review and Site Supervision, ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contract documents, coordinating with various stakeholders, and overseeing construction site activities to ensure adherence to approved plans and specifications.Ensure responsibilities are fulfilled with a high quality and in a cost-effective mannerClosely work with the project team for the review of the contractors work program during the pre-construction phase.Support the Associate Project Manager and Planning Engineer with the review of contractors ‘submittals, including staffing proposals, organization charts, shop drawings, method statements, project procedures, traffic management plans, etc.Closely work with Planning Engineers for monitoring contractors ‘daily activities and resource allocation against plans.Monitor contractors ‘and subcontractors’ activities on sites (e.g. concrete pouring, installations, etc.) and maintain a daily site diary accordingly.Assist Project Managers with the assessment and management of changes in projects’ scope of work, as neededSupport project teams with the review, assessment and response to all claims raised by the contractor regarding scope, schedule and cost changes of projects, as neededAssist with reviewing contractors’ Requests for Information (RFIs) in coordination with local design support teams to obtain required information on queries related to design documentsConduct quality inspections on contractors and subcontractors with the QA / QC Engineer and identify and raise quality issues, as neededClosely work with the QA / QC Engineer on the development and implementation of quality non-conformities action plansClosely work with the HSSE Engineer on enforcing and monitoring the implementation of HSSE procedures on construction sites and recording and raising HSSE non-conformitiesEXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical EngineeringMinimum Experience:15-20 years of experience in a similar role.Job-Specific Skills (Generic / Technical):Knowledge of construction supervision servicesUnderstanding of international engineering standards and codesGood interpersonal and leadership skillsGood communication skillsGood planning and organization skillsStrong attention to detailsStrong time management skillsProficiency in spoken and written Arabic and English
