Objective: Responsible for performing the Hydrology analysis and storm water management for the Renewable (PV Solar, BESS, Wind) projects, Substation Projects and Utility Power Distribution Projects.•Rainfall analysis, peak flow analysis & hydraulic modelling including watershed morphology (delineate watershed, existing stream, lag time & time of concentration)•Compute discharge at all outlets of the watershed and generate the respective discharge hydrographs to determine the flood potentiality and detailed flood study.•Flood mitigation work for the site including drainage and water treatment, including concept for rain and storm water, freshwater and sewage water, handling of oily and environmental harmful liquids covering total plant area and Site facilities•To identify the hydraulic constraints limiting the use of the project area.•Identify flood mitigation arrangement and recommendation to align the project requirements.•Have deeper understanding of the project’s costs, timelines and build-ability issues so that adjustments can be made at Engineering stage itself.•Ensure design intent is translated in construction. Responsible for safe, innovative, and workable engineering solutions within budgeted cost/ quantity, deliver on time and maintaining highest standards of engineering.Key Responsibilities:•Detailed Hydro-meteorology survey •Determination of flood potentiality and flood study of the project by performing hydrological and hydraulic modelling•On-site review of waterways and delimitation of conditions of lows to determine design flood hyetographs and the hydraulic constraints limiting the use of the project area •Hydrological assessment (input information for hydro numeric or GIS based modelling) including identification of vulnerable areas with hydrodynamic modelling of relevant runoff pathways and delineation of potential flood plains for the 100-year•Flood mitigation arrangement and recommendation based on rainwater discharge time from plant boundaryTechnical Expertise: Should be Proficient in following areas:•Precipitation Analysis, Surface Water Hydrology, Water resource modelling, Flood Control and Stormwater Management, Environmental and Ecosystem Considerations•Determination of design flood hyetographs to produce maximum grids: extent, level, depth, and velocity for design storm events under baseline and mitigation scenarios to overcome construction challenges.•Flood mitigation measurements and recommendations to improve the facility in the project area •Good field experience to anticipate and identify challenges to the actual construction of the project before a project moves on from design to construction phase.•In depth understanding of the project’s costs, timelines and build-ability issues to provide appropriate solutions in design phase.Operating Network: •Internally: PEMs, Head of EDRC, BU Heads & Project heads, Repartees, Project Construction Managers, Supply Chain Management, Quality, Contracts Team, Cluster Heads, Safety through proper channel.•Externally: Clients at decision making level & Review Consultants (Team Leads) through proper channel on need basis.
Education: Master’s in Hydrology and water resources engineering or Hydrology / PhD in Hydrology and water resources engineering or Flood modelling.Experience: 10+ years of experience (with min. 5 - 6 years’ experience in real time projects / industrial experience) in the field of Hydrology and water resources management•Analyse data related to rainfall, precipitation analysis, Surface runoff, flood risks, flood control and storm water management in consideration of Environment and ecosystem.•Hydraulic modelling, floodplain management, water delineation studies, and environmental impact assessment.•Design and implement stormwater management systems, including drainage networks, detention ponds, and erosion control measures.•Addressing challenges related to erosion, flooding, and sediment transport.Experience in hydrology and flood analysis for a large-scale real-time project is an added advantage.Software Skills Required: •Hydrologic Engineering Center's (HEC) Statistical Software Package (HEC-SSP)•HEC HMS (Hydrologic Engineering Centre Hydrologic Modeling System)•HEC RAS (Hydrologic Engineering Centre River Analysis System) •Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model•QGIS, Arc GIS•HY 8 (Culvert analysis)•Hydraulic Toolbox (Channel design)•SWMM (Storm water Management Model)Behavioural Attributes: •Innovative and out of box thinking mindset.•Self-motivated and unsupervised working.•Leadership and problem solving.•Efficient management of resources (Human, Time, Financial)•Efficient communication and presentation skills (all forms)
