My client a leading Architectural & Engineering Consultancy has a requirement for a Façade Engineer for a major building project in Riyadh.This role is focused on the on-site execution, quality control, and coordination of complex facade systems. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge, regional experience, and a track record of delivering high-end hospitality facades in challenging climates and fast-paced environments.Education & Experience: * Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline. * 10 to 15 years of façade engineering experience, with a minimum of 5 years on high-end hotel or hospitality projects in the Middle East. * Expertise in unitized curtain wall systems, bespoke cladding, glazing, shading devices, and integration of thermal/acoustic insulation strategies. * Strong understanding of international façade standards (ASTM, BS/EN, NFPA) and local codes (e.g., DM, DCD, SBC). * Proven ability to manage site issues proactively and collaborate across large, multidisciplinary teams. * Preferred certifications from recognized façade authorities, such as:•Society of Façade Engineering (CIBSE SFE)•Specialist Façade Engineer registration (where applicable)•Certified Façade Inspector or Specialist (e.g., CWCT courses in façade design/installation)•Membership in regional engineering authorities (e.g., Saudi Council of Engineers, Dubai Municipality Approved Engineer)•Additional credentials such as PMP, LEED AP, or similar are considered a plus. * Experience working with Tier 1 facade contractors and established international hotel operators * Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage conflicts, mentor junior engineers, and drive quality results. * Familiarity with tools such as BIM, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and façade specific analysis software is advantageous. * Knowledge of Arabic is a plus but not required.Roles & Responsibilities:Site Supervision & Quality Assurance:•Lead façade installation supervision on-site, ensuring full compliance with design specifications, hospitality brand standards, and international codes.•Oversee installation of curtain walls, stone and metal cladding, glass facades, shading systems, and architectural features in coordination with project stakeholders.•Conduct detailed inspections, issue Site Instruction Reports (SIRs), and follow up on corrective actions with contractors.Technical Support & Coordination:•Serve as the main on-site facade expert, providing guidance to contractors, facade subcontractors, and site teams.•Review and approve facade-related shop drawings, method statements, material submissions, and mock-ups.•Coordinate complex facade interface zones with MEP, structural, and interior architecture disciplines, ensuring cohesive detailing and buildability.Compliance & Testing:•Ensure facade elements meet regional regulations (e.g., KSA Fire Code, Saudi Building Code), wind load, seismic, and thermal performance requirements.•Witness and verify performance testing of façade systems, such as water infiltration, air leakage, and structural deflection.•Enforce rigorous quality control and safety standards in line with Middle East HSE protocols.Project Reporting & Communication:•Represent the façade discipline in site coordination and progress meetings with the client, project manager, architects, and contractors.•Provide regular reports on facade progress, technical risks, and QA/QC status to the design office.•Support the preparation of facade handover documentation, punch lists, and close-out reports.
