Microbiology Section Head

Supervise daily microbiological testing of food, water, environmental, and other relevant samples.
Ensure all testing methods comply with ISO/IEC 17025 and relevant regulatory standards (SFDA, MEWA, SASO).
Review and approve test results, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and timely reporting.
Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of microbiology analysts and technicians.
Validate and implement new testing methods or updates as needed.
Manage lab schedules, workloads, and resource allocation for optimal productivity.
Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of microbiological instruments and equipment.
Maintain all documentation including SOPs, quality records, and reports in coordination with the Quality Manager.
Participate in internal audits, corrective actions, and quality improvement initiatives.
Coordinate with customer service and the sales team to ensure client expectations are met.
Support business development by enhancing the scope and reliability of the microbiology section.

Skills

Master's degree in Microbiology or PHD, Biology, Food Science, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a microbiology laboratory, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior role.
Experience in food, water, cosmetics , tobacco, environmental microbiological testing.
Strong knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and relevant quality systems.
Experience with accreditation audits (e.g., SASO, SFDA) is preferred.

Key Skills:

Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Proficient in LIMS and MS Office.
Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus
